BPR’s Top 25 PR Projects: #24 Celebrating Snap-on Tools’ Production Milestone (2007)

Snap-On LogoIn 2007, Snap-on Tools, an American designer, manufacturer and marketer of high-end tools and equipment to professional tool users, planned to celebrate a historic milestone at its production plant in Algona, IA. The plant, which had been in operation for more than 50 years, would be producing its two millionth Snap-on tool storage unit.

Snap-on wanted to use this milestone to not only highlight its best-in-class products, quality manufacturing and longevity, but also to honor the dedicated employees that made up its workforce and to announce an expansion at the Algona plant.

Bianchi PR was asked to assist in inviting industry and local media to the plant location for the unveiling of the tool box, interview opportunities and to announce the expansion plans.

Results: despite the Algona plant being an out-of-the way location for several industry reporters that required travel, Bianchi PR succeeded in pitching top targets and securing RSVPs for the event from outlets such as Babcox Publications, Professional Tool & Equipment News and more.

Coverage of the achievement and the expansion in several local news outlets and key industry publications such as Aftermarket Business, Automotive Body Repair News, Forbes, Motor Age, Popular Mechanics, Tech Shop and more, and the employees had a day of celebration where their efforts and hard work were recognized.

BPR’s Top 25 PR Projects is a biweekly profile highlighting some of our favorite client projects, as we commemorate Bianchi PR’s 25th year in business.
